On sinuous builds, I’ve gotten longevity by spec’ing 8–9 gauge with an edge wire and cross ties every third spring, plus a 1/2" needled felt insulator to tame the “hammock” feel; it’s not 8-way, but it closes the gap for mid-price sofas. Do you pre-bow the rails, @LenaShop? I get better pitch hold with a slight 1/8" pre-bow rather than relying solely on clip angle.
