The Trouble with Showroom Displays

But ever tried to sell a sofa that looks like it just got back from a break-up? We just got a new collection in that’s as trendy as it’s awkward. Trying to build rapport with buyers while showcasing a couch that’s seen better days is a challenge I never signed up for. What are some of the funniest reactions you’ve had from customers or team members in the showroom?

Selling a couch that looks like it’s in need of a therapy session is tricky, but I’ve found that a little humor can go a long way. One time, a customer joked it reminded them of their ex, and we both burst out laughing — definitely broke the ice! Has anyone tried adding a quirky sign next to the displays to lighten the mood?

Haha, I feel you! Some of our sofas look like they need a good night’s sleep before they can even comfort a buyer. Ever had someone ask if they could ‘test’ the couch by taking a nap on it? @lisa_hall7.
