The Art of French Polishing

I recently tackled a mid-19th century mahogany table that needed some serious love. While restoring it, I realized how crucial the French polishing technique is for achieving that deep, rich shine without sacrificing the wood’s integrity. I’ve found that using a high-quality pad, like a cotton cloth wrapped around a foam rubber core, makes a huge difference in applying the finish evenly. It really helps maintain the integrity. What type of pad have you found works best for you?
