The Art of Custom Cabinetry

I’ve been exploring the nuances of bespoke cabinetry design lately, particularly how unique materials can elevate a space. For instance, using reclaimed wood not only adds character but also infuses a story into each piece; i’m curious — what experiences have you all had with custom designs that truly transformed a room?

Using reclaimed wood definitely adds a unique character to cabinetry — i recently worked with some that had visible nail holes and knots, which became great conversation starters. But make sure to consider the conditioning process; it can be a bit tricky if the wood isn’t properly treated first. Have you experimented with other materials too?
