I get the struggle — using hide glue can be rewarding, but , the drying times can drive you nuts; for some repairs, I’ve switched to PVA for its ease of use, especially when I’m in a time crunch… Have you found any tricks to speed up the hide glue process?

Mixing hide glue with a bit of water can definitely help with drying time, but I think it also alters its strength. I’ve had good experiences with Titebond III for durability when I need something stronger. Have you considered experimenting with that, @lisa_hall7?
