Layering Textures in Furniture Design

Have you all noticed how layering different textures is taking over the furniture scene? I recently styled a space using a velvet sofa, woven rattan chairs, and a chunky knit throw, and it totally transformed the room. I’m curious about what textures you love to incorporate into your designs — any favorite combos or tips?

I totally get what you mean about layering textures! I love pairing a smooth leather piece with something more tactile like a boucle or jute. It adds so much dimension to the space.

Layering textures can really elevate a space! I love mixing a soft, luxurious fabric like velvet with something rustic like reclaimed wood — it creates a nice contrast. What’s your take on mixing finishes, @bryce_liu29?

Mixing a smooth leather with a fuzzy textile like a sheepskin throw can create such a cozy vibe! I love how it adds warmth to a modern setting. Have you tried that combo?
